Microsoft Edge Browser App Now Available for iOS and Android

The Windows maker’s web browser -Microsoft Edge, has eventually debuted on Apple phones and Android tablets, giving you one more option for surfing the internet.

Detailed on Microsoft's blog, this new release follows a preview program that Microsoft launched at the end of 2017, which first introduced the browser to smartphone users outside of the Windows 10 bubble.

According to Microsoft, "Now, you too, can experience familiar features like your Favorites (including Roaming Favorites), Reading List, New Tab Page, Reading View, and Roaming Passwords in Microsoft Edge across all of your devices," the company said in a blog post.

If you were disappointed by the browsing experience Microsoft Edge offered to those using slightly larger screens, you'll now be pleased to know that the app has been optimized to work flawlessly on iPads and Android tablets.

You can download Microsoft Edge on your Android tablet by visiting the Google Play Store. It is compatible with devices running Android 4.4 and above. The iPad version, on the other hand, is available for download via the iTunes Store and requires iOS 9.0 and later.

A favorite unadvertised feature found in Microsoft Edge is that it’s one of the few ways to tune into Apple’s live-streamed events. Sure, you can watch those on an iPad already using Safari, its default web browser. But having this ability opened up to Android users makes Edge worth checking out, at the very least for those one-off events.
